The first time we met, there was instant connection! The second time we met, he proposed!! And the third time we met, we got married!!! Raman first initiated a contact in Jan'04. Ironically, I was the first person he contacted and I guess I never gave him a chance for anybody else! We started emailing each other and slowly graduated to those long phone conversations by April. We grew up in the same city in India and came from similar family backgrounds. Both had come to US for our Master's and we found that we shared similar interests and our thoughts complemented each other. I was in New York at the time and he was living in LA. It was definitely a long distance thing going on. We decided we had to see each other and so he flew to meet me in June. We spent time walking the streets of New York city and by the end of the day, we definitely knew we were headed in the right direction. I came to visit him in LA for the July 4th weekend. He proposed at a dinner in this Italian restaurant "Ti Amo". It was magical! Incidentally, "Ti Amo" is Italian for "I love you". Due to some issues, we had to get married right away. Both of us talked to my parents and his family and they gave their support and blessings. So, we got married the following week at a court house in Orange County. It was a lovely ceremony and friends and family from both the sides managed to attend the wedding with just a day's notice. My parents hadn't even seen Raman personally till our India trip in December but their faith in me gave me the strength to do the right thing. When they met my husband, they were very happy with my decision and threw us a grand wedding reception. We are now blessed with a beautiful son who has just turned one. It has been 3 years that we have been married and life could not have been more wonderful. I wanted to thank you guys (Telugumatrimony.com) for making it possible to find each other!!
